Hi. Welcome to the blog for Crafty Brewers: Tales Behind Craft Beer! We’re glad you found us. Pour yourself your favorite craft beer and plan to visit us often. Our hope is that we’ll increase your love of craft beer, introduce you to new breweries and share stories that you’ll enjoy as much as the beer in your glass.

We know what you’re thinking. “Is this another beer podcast where the hosts live in their mom’s basement and consider themselves experts when really they’re just beer snobs?” Nope! The only part of that thought that’s true is that yes, we are a beer podcast. Everything else is way off. We’re here to focus on the stories behind the beers you love, those you will love and have a great time doing it.

Every brewer and every brewery has a story and that’s what we plan to share on the show. Brewers are unique, brilliant, creative and usually heavily tattooed folks who love to share their stories and their passion for beer. They’re also not shy about voice their opinions or to point out the foibles of the industry. They enjoy pouring and sharing samples and discussing what makes up the delicious beers we all crave. We love that part too.

You’re probably wondering who we are. The show is co-hosted by Brian Noonan and Katherine Valleau and produced by award-winning podcast producer Cody Gough.

Brian is a long time radio host/stand up comic/podcaster and beer drinker. He developed a passion for beer at a young age and began talking to brewers years ago on the radio. Brian always believed those conversations would make a great podcast. Thankfully he found two other people who agreed.

Katherine is the co-owner and “chief everything officer” at Exit Strategy Brewing Company in Forest Park, Il. A former teacher Katherine loves educating her customers on all things beer. If you have a few hours, she’d love to talk fermentation with you.

Cody is a podcasting professional who has won awards for his production and hosting of podcasts for the Discovery Channel, HGTV, Nerd Wallet and more. He has worked with Brian for over a decade and keeps coming back for more, which makes both Brian and Katherine very happy.
